Walking breaks
The Hotel is conveniently
located near to the popular South West Coast Path, and the nearby
section includes towering cliffs, scenic coves, unspoint fishing
villages such as Hope Cove and the yachting haven of Salcombe. Burgh
Island, of Agatha Christie fame, is also a short walk away.
We can assist you with planning
everything from a one day walk to longer treks covering more sections
of the path A wonderful 3 day walk that we recommend is first day a
drop-off at Aveton Gifford walking along the River Avon to Bantham and
then back to the Hotel via Hope Cove.Second day Bolt Tail to Salcombe,
and third day Salcombe (via ferry) to Slapton via Gara Rock, East
Prawle and the ruins of the village of Hallsands, which was swept away
one stormy night....
